“When in Rome”

Train from Florence to Rome (1h 30m). Departing at 11am and arriving at 12.30pm.

  • Let’s be honest, we’re coming off a Friday night in Florence. I think we can be afforded a semi-sleep in.

Stay at Yellowsquare Rome. Check in 3pm, (Via Palestro 51, Rome)

Trevi Fountain (and the region around here)

  • Set out on foot to explore around 1pm at the Trevi Fountain region. The fountain is around a 30 minute walk from our hostel, but there are stops along the way we can visit. For instance, if we are hungry we can go to Piccolo Buco, which is a cheap pizza shop near the fountain, which cooks wood-fire pizzas from a 100-year old oven! We could also wander through the Giardini Del Quirinale Gardens.

Via Del Corso

  • Afterwards, if we are hot and need shelter, we can head to the Via Del Corso, which is a shopping strip. This is a more affordable area, however we could head to the Via Condotti which is a luxurious shopping street.

The Spanish Steps

  • Then, we tick off one of Rome’s most popular attractions; The Spanish Steps. This is in the region and is an area with fountains, plazas and viewpoints. We should definitely check out the Terrazza Del Pincio which is a lookout over Rome just an 8-minute walk from the Steps. By the time this is done, we will likely head back to our hostel around 4.30-5pm.

Trastevere District

  • We can then head back to our hotel and chill for a few hours, before going out to dinner in the Trastevere District at around 6.30pm This is a food/drinking district, and home of the appertivo. We should make a reservation here and enjoy a meal. We can take a bus for 30-minutes and arrive here.
  • After eating dinner/having a look around we can complete a short walk to the Giardino degli Aranci, which is the best sunset spot in the city. We will then return by bus to our hostel, where at 10:30pm the Beer Pong Tournament starts. BYO Beer.
