Vatican City.

  • We will probably be hungover/groggy from winning the beer pong tournament, so can afford to head to the Vatican a bit later if we wanted to.

Train: 9.30am Roma Termini to Roma San Pietro

Vatican Museums

  • The train will take us to a short walking distance of St Peter’s Square. Here we can walk to our pre-booked entry to the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum. This costs $41 AUD and will take probably 2-hours to explore thoroughly.

St Peter’s Basilica

  • We will head here around 12pm and queue to get inside. It is free entry, however to get a lookout over the city in the St Peter’s Dome is an extra 8 euros. There are 500 steps on the way to the stop. It offers brilliant views of the Vatican and is one of the staple things to do in the city.

Vatican Grottoes

  • Afterwards, we will visit the Vatican Grottoes. There are lots of tombs and an underground labyrinth to explore.
  • Other noteworthy things to do, include strolling through the Vatican Gardens and sending a postcard from the Vatican Post Office
